Yesterday, we received the QC1 copy of the manuscript from O’Reilly’s production team. This is a 650-page PDF file that contains the almost-final text of the book, with hundreds of copyediting changes applied. Our job for the next ten days is to pore over this and find any problems.

Some time after October 27 (when QC1 comments are due back to O’Reilly), there will be a QC2 pass, followed by the first print run.

We’re still looking at a release date around the end of November or beginning of December. There’s still plenty of time to preorder online and assure yourself of a copy to consume with your eggnog and Christmas pudding.

This is cool. I wish I could buy myself a copy, but it looks like it isn’t going to happen.

Do you ship your book to Kazakhstan?

@Artyom: Unless something unfortunate happens, the book should be available as an eBook, which should help with getting it to Kazakhstan :-).

I’ve pre-ordered your book from Amazon already — I’m looking forward to getting it :-).

I’m in the US and have pre-ordered the book at amazon.ca (Canada), where the book is discounted 37% (compared to 11% at amazon.com). With the current exchange rate, the book is only US$26.53. The shipping will cost CA$9.98 but that still comes out to $10 less than buying it from amazon.com (US).

Wow, This is the first time I have heard of this book. I used to use Haskell all the time (even in anger) but have not for a couple of years. I was thinking about using it for a new project, and low and behold I find your new book for pre-order on amazon.com. Awesome!
